November 27th, 2012 at 4:42pm Maybe I'm just not getting this. Let's say a critter hits you for 50K damage with a mortar (fire) and you have 70% damage reduction from armor and 60% from fire resist. What then would the total amount of the hit actually be? Thanks in advance. BTW. Does physical resist add into this as well? |

I see that several people have already answered this question for you, but I wanted to post this anyway since this question comes up now and again. The short answer is you would take 6,000 damage from this attack with those resistance percentages. Physical Resist would not help you here since the attack is Fire and not Physical. It does not matter what reduction happens first, so we will start with Armor. In this case, the Mortar is reduced by 70% of 50,000 and that = 35,000. 50,000 x .7 = 35,000 50,000 – 35,000 = 15,000. The remaining 15,000 Fire damage is reduced by Fire Resistance (which in this case is 60%) and that removes another 9,000. 15,000 x .6 = 9,000 15,000 – 9,000 = 6,000 *Edited to fix a value* |

Isn't it should be like this? You are correct, thanks! |
