#1  08-20-2008, 09:16:16 PM CDT As a side-contest to our main one that started on Monday, we want to hear from all of the diehard fans out there who went through great lengths to get a BlizzCon ticket but failed up to this point.

Non-refundable hotel reservations and plane tickets booked and no way into the show? Spent the entire Monday wearing down your F5 button into a fine paste and went home empty-handed? Anything goes. Make us feel sorry for you and the effort you invested and maybe you'll be rewarded with entry into the BlizzCon 2008 event.

Blizzard has graciously given us the opportunity to give 3 tickets away (value $100 each).

This contest is now closed, winners will be announced soon.

Deadline is Saturday August 23rd, 2008 @ 12:00PM CST.

* Travel/lodging is not included with this contest, winners will need to find their own way there.

#5  08-23-2008, 11:38:06 AM CDT At least you're not traveling half the globe to be 0.5 miles from it and have not tickets, that's what happened to me.

But I'm not bitter!

#7  08-23-2008, 12:20:23 PM CDT Fiance and I are both students, not having a lot of money we went with the cheapest plane tickets we could find, October is the Jewish holiday season so prices are just insane (Not that they are low to begin with)... I checked with friends and they told me getting tickets was a problem last time...So I concluded that it wouldn't be a problem this year.

I was wrong.

Probably booked flight before tickets were secured. A lot of people got stuck in that boat I think.

#9  08-23-2008, 06:16:57 PM CDT I'm actually one of the luckier ones I think, BlizzCon would've been great but I do have friends I'm going to see in LA (Which is my main reason for going) and I'm only gonna be around for five days, I could do all the tourism stuff in five days :D.

It would've been great to go to BlizzCon but it seems impossible at this point (Unless some scalper has mercy).

Since there aren't physical tickets, I don't think that will be the case. You walk into the convention center and show your ID to get a badge, which kind of removes scalping as a viable option.

I think the way people got around that last year (or so I hear) was the scalper would go in, get the badge, and then just sell the badge.

I suppose that could work for locals. Seems like a lot of hassle, but I guess there are people who would pay the extra to get in there.

#13  08-24-2008, 10:10:33 AM CDT Meh, I will not pay more than $100 a ticket, with respects to BlizzCon, I'd prefer spending the money I'd spend on scalped tickets on Gadgets I can't get in Israel :D
