#2  08-27-2008, 11:27:40 AM CDT Yeah, the higher difficulties were pretty fun. They added a nice challenge too. I'm pretty sure they will add something similar in Diablo III.

#3  08-27-2008, 11:47:29 AM CDT jay wilson said in a interview that there will be nightmare and hell. He also stated that there will be waypoints, and the big shocker is there is No TP's as of right now in the game... they added a new feature to the game, you will be able to teleport to a teammate via the waypoint system

#4  08-27-2008, 12:15:42 PM CDT No TP? I saw one in the gameplay demo they showed us. What's the point in teleporting to a friend if you play alone?

#5  08-27-2008, 01:25:56 PM CDT they have taken the tp's out since the gameplay trailer and the point of teleport to a friend is for when your not playing alone they added this so the player already out doesn't have to stop what hes doing to send a tp to a party member, they will still have waypoints like in d2 also

Source? And what about when playing alone? It sucks if this is for real.

#9  08-27-2008, 02:59:54 PM CDT Thanks for this. Certainly gets me excited again, even though I dislike the art style. The gameplay sounds promising enough. Although I will miss the TPs, does it mean you have to walk all the way to town every time you want to? For instance when you kill a boss or do a run and want to go to town to sell or just repair weapons? Damn you Blizzcon for being so far away!

no what i took from that interview is that there will be more waypoint to go back to town, plus they said they want to find a way to come back to town, but not a fight fleeing such as Town Portals

#11  08-27-2008, 07:52:46 PM CDT hopefully with the return of these difficulties they can add maybe a secret storyline or more secrets seeing that your gonna be playing a harder lvl and thus giving more of an incentive to play more

That article is really disappointing, particularly the part about no longer supporting LAN play. Innevitably people will make hacks for the game to allow this, perhaps loosely similar to the private servers for World of Warcraft, if they don't keep the feature in the game. I had a lot of fun playing at a Diablo II LAN party with my friends.

#13  08-28-2008, 11:18:27 AM CDT the problem i see with the open battle.net is that people can test duping and other such hacks against the actually server structure of the closed b-net because i don't believe their coding has much a differnce between open and closed

Slightly related. Nice, although short, interview.

That was really disappointing to me as well shepherd. My friends and I have been talking about getting D3 and immediately having a LAN party and running through the entire game together... not so much anymore.
