The funniest and most creative windshield notes ever left by angry neighbors

By Jake Schroeder

How often have you encountered someone taking up two parking spots with his car? And how often has someone parked right across the path, making it impossible to get through?

It can make a person really angry to encounter something that seems unjust, so more often than not we choose to leave a note on the driver’s windshield. These notes are some of the funniest efforts made by people who have just had enough of their fellow drivers taking up extra spaces, parking badly, or leaving their car alarms on all night long.

Designated parking

We all know the situation. You look for a parking spot and you find someone who’s taking up two spots instead of just one, leaving one less spot for other people who want to park.

Designated parking
Designated parking

Someone who happened to have a piece of chalk decided to put this person to shame, and drew them a special parking space, just for them. We hope this action let them know that no one is so special that they need to take up two spots at once.

Performing your own stunts

What we love about this note left by a person to their neighbor, is the sense of humor and creativeness this sarcastic driver is showing. Blocking the pavement isn’t such a nice thing to do. No one likes having to maneuver their way across the hood of a car in order to get through.

But when this person decided to leave their neighbor a note, they let them know they were interrupting in a hilarious way – joking about how they feel like the star of an action film. We can only hope that the recipient of this note read it, thought it was hilarious, and stopped parking across the path.

The perks of society

As whoever left this note mentioned, there are many benefits to living in today’s society. We’ve living pretty comfortably compared to the days of the caveman (and some later periods in time), but with great benefits comes a great responsibility.

The perks of society
The perks of society

There are reasons why we has certain rules – it’s these rules that keep us civilized and keep the order within society. The person who left this note felt they needed to make this clear to the owner of this car, who presumably parked in a way no one should. They also suggested this person do some introspect on their behavior, which we’re pretty sure they did upon receiving a note like this.

Grumpy cat

Grumpy Cat is a meme that all but took over the internet a few years back and people still like to use it from time to time today. It is of a cat who looks, well, a little bit differently than most cats and it appears to constantly have a frown on its face – hence the nickname grumpy cat.

Grumpy cat
Grumpy cat

Well, these people decided to use this meme to show rude parkers what’s what and explained that they’d upset grumpy cat. Next time, they will just call the towing company.

No more tickets

This person is outright begging the traffic police not to give him another ticket. After already receiving three tickets that week, they just couldn’t take it anymore, and decided to appeal to the heart and explain their situation.

No more tickets
No more tickets

And honestly, we think someone should cut this person a break! Not only are they broke, but they’re just waiting for their sticker to arrive in the mail – and we all know how painfully slow the mail can be.

Massive guilt trip

We all hate it when someone takes more than one parking space. But this person decided to leave a note that’s meant to give this driver a proper guilt trip. Sure, it’s fine to get nice things for yourself when you can afford it, but owning a BMW doesn’t mean you get to take up two parking spots.

Massive guilt trip
Massive guilt trip

This person not only let the owner of the BMW know, but they also blamed them for their grandmother’s hypothetical death. Pretty harsh!

Hey, Dogg

From time to time, we find people parking in our spot, which can get very annoying. But when a person does this all the time, sometimes we just have to do something about it.

Hey, Dogg
Hey, Dogg

This person left a funny note on the car owner’s windshield calling them “dogg” – which we’re sure made them laugh so hard they forgot about having to clean up their car. And hopefully, it made them stop parking in a reserved spot!

But Y?

If you don’t know the “Y U NO” guy, it’s a character from an old anime series called Gantz. It’s often used in hilarious memes to bring someone’s attention to something they’ve neglected doing, while using poor grammar.

But Y
But Y

In this case, the person who left this note wanted to know why the car owner wasn’t parking his car in the designated parking space. Using memes is a great way of telling people what you think while being nice about it, and it works!

Sorry, not sorry

When you accidentally leave a dent in someone’s car, it’s only decent that you leave your contact number and details so you could pay for the damage you caused. Well, what if that dent was made because this person was taking up two parking spaces and you couldn’t avoid it?

Sorry, not sorry
Sorry, not sorry

This person left a note basically saying “sorry, not sorry” about leaving a dent and scratches on the other person’s car, telling them to look to the dent as a reminder not to take up two parking spots.

Very particular set of skills

The Liam Neeson action movie Taken was hugely popular when it came out, and has had many parodies done about it since. One of the better known lines from the movie, is the one where Liam Neeson tells the kidnapper about having a very particular set of skills that will allow him to track him down.

Very particular set of skills
Very particular set of skills

This person decided to use this very line to warn another person from ever parking inside their parking space again – and we think it’s amazing.

That’s be great

Many people remember the 1999 cult comedy, Office Space, starring Ron Livingston and Jennifer Anniston. The movie captures the most mundane aspects of working in an office so well, it’s no wonder it became so widely popular.

That’s be great
That’s be great

Gary Cole’s character making various requests and ending it with “that’d be great” turned into a funny meme. And this person using that meme to kindly ask another person to stop parking in their spot is just hilarious!

We all scream about ice cream

It’s one thing to park in someone’s spot and make them have to park two blocks away from their house, but it’s a whole other thing to cause their ice cream to melt on their way home.

We all scream about ice cream
We all scream about ice cream

How can a person do that to another human being and live soundly with themselves? This person called the car owner for being self important and parking their fancy car in their spot, and we really hope they’ve learned their lesson.

Oh, snap!

We don’t really get why some people can’t just park between the lines, and we guess whoever left this note agrees with us. The person who parked on two spots was put to shame by the one who left this note.

Oh, snap!
Oh, snap!

Coloring inside the lines is a great way of teaching children how to be precise and follow the rules, but we guess it can also be used for adults who never quite learned the craft.

Autobots, rollout!

For those of you who are not familiar with Optimus Prime, it’s the Autobot leader of the popular Transformers franchise. This humorous note states that Optimus Prime thinks this person did a terrible job parking.

Autobots, rollout!
Autobots, rollout!

This note perfectly captures the personality of the person who wrote it. And if the recipient of this note doesn’t know what it’s about, we’d suggest that they watch the film to get a better understanding of the funny note.

Eye witness

Imagine getting to your car in the morning, a day after Christmas, and finding a huge dent in your car that someone had left the previous night. Well, it happened to this person.

Eye witness
Eye witness

Only some good samaritan saw what had happened, and decided to leave an incriminating note telling them exactly what occurred. They even remembered the license plate number so this person can track down whoever backed into their car. What an amazing Christmas gift it is!

Game of notes

If you live on this planet, you’re probably familiar with HBO’s hugely popular show, Game of Thrones. And if you watch the show, you probably know the Lannisters’ moto, “A Lannister always pays his debts.”

Game of notes
Game of notes

This is exactly what makes this note so intimidating. We would not want to park in a Lannister’s parking spot (especially not Cersei’s), so if we were on the receiving end of this note, we would run for our lives.

Not right

This is one of the dirtiest moves we’ve ever seen someone pull. Like we’ve already mentioned, when you hit someone’s car and they’re not around, you should always leave them a note with your contact information in it.

Not right
Not right

What you shouldn’t do, is pretend you’re leaving them a note with your details, while in reality you’re just making yourself look like you’re a decent person. And we do not appreciate that typo saying “right” instead of “write”, either.

You should feel bad

Another day, another meme! A line by Zoidberg from the Futurama episode called “The Devil’s Hands Are Idle Playthings” became an internet meme – saying “Your X is bad and you should feel bad.”

You should feel bad
You should feel bad

But this person not only used the meme in a hilarious way to let someone know their parking is off, but also demonstrated some mean drawing skills. They drew Zoidberg with such talent, any person who gets this note should show appreciation for it and listen.

Bow to the Dust and Dustess

We don’t want to sound mean, but this might possibly be the best use for a Toyota Yaris in history. Let’s start with a disclaimer: this image has not been doctored, it isn’t painted or sprayed on, and it’s not an optical illusion. What you’re seeing is the fruit of artist Scott Wade’s labor.

Bow to the Dust and Dustess
Bow to the Dust and Dustess

In fact, Wade has made quite a name for himself creating masterpieces on dusty windshields. This particular piece shows Prince William and his wife Kate, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, in the process of being thrilled for their future move to Buckingham Palace.

Squirrels

There’s a philosophical question that goes, “If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?” It challenges our idea of perception, by asking what is, in fact, real to us.

Squirrels
Squirrels

So if two squirrels decide to go to town on top of your car and you’re not there to see it, did it really happen? Well, yes, if another person happened to see it and leave you a note about it.

Hellen Kellering it

This message, left on a car’s windshield by a clearly angry driver, refers to blind and deaf author Helen Keller. We think there are much better ways of telling someone they don’t know how to park than referring to someone’s disability.

Hellen Kellering it
Hellen Kellering it

And in this case, it can actually be considered a compliment. Since Helen Keller overcame her disabilities to become an author, a humanitarian and an activist – we’re pretty sure being compared to her is a good thing on all accounts.

We’re asking nicely

Some people leave angry notes, some people leave funny memes, and some people just ask nicely. It is possible that the owner of this car is unaware of how badly they park, or that they’re in the way.

We’re asking nicely
We’re asking nicely

So why not politely and kindly let them know that they need to park better? All we know is, if someone left this message written in snow on our windshield, we would definitely do some soul searching.

That new car smell

We love that this person went out of their way and put a gift along with their note! We wonder whether the person who received this note was more agitated by the insult, or amused by the joke.

That new car smell
That new car smell

We think if we found this note on our windshield, we’d probably take it with a chuckle and try to park better next time. Plus, one could always use a new Car Freshner to hang inside their car.

Cursed

We totally hear this person. An alarm going off all night long can be maddening, especially when it keeps you from sleeping all night.

Cursed
Cursed

This note started out pretty nice, with the person who wrote it mentioning they’ve had the same problem, but it went downhill pretty quick. You’d have to be pretty tired and cranky to curse someone with bad sleep for a whole of two weeks, and their pets forgetting their potty training.

Every day I’m shoveling

It’s always a difficult task to shovel the driveway from snow so you can park your car in your space. It’s a grueling job, and it’s even more excruciating when you have to do it when it’s freezing cold.

Every day I’m shoveling
Every day I’m shoveling

But imagine spending a few hours shoveling the driveway, only to have someone else rudely take your spot. We can’t say we blame this person for leaving this sarcastic note on the mirror of the car parked in their spot. Not cool!

Gym goals

This person has a really good point. If you’re going to the gym then you probably want to stay in shape. So what better way is there to do that, than to park far away and walk an extra few feet?

Gym goals
Gym goals

This person obviously didn’t think of that, because apparently they parked in a place that is not a parking spot. Why do that, when you can both park legally, and keep your shape up?

How it’s done

We often witness someone parking illegally, taking up two parking spaces, or blocking the way – and sometimes we decide to leave them a note telling them all about it.

How it’s done
How it’s done

But why just tell a person they’ve parked badly, when you can teach them how to park? You know what they say, “Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.” With this very specific set of instructions, this person is guaranteed never to park badly again.

Thanks, Spidey

Uh oh, my Terrible Parking Job Sense is tingling! There’s a lot of things we love about this note. Obviously, Spiderman left it, and it’s good to see him taking mundane things seriously these days.

Thanks, Spidey
Thanks, Spidey

It’s also fun to imagine Spiderman taking out a napkin and drawing a heart on it. We also really enjoy the fact that they wrote about the car as if it was its own, sentient being that parked itself. After all, no conscious human could have messed up a parking job that badly.

Jasper on the job

If you’re a fan of The Simpsons, you’re bound to get this reference. Grandpa Simpson’s best pal, Jasper, happens to be a fan of physical discipline for those who step out of line.

Jasper on the job
Jasper on the job

This drawing of him is spot-on in two different ways. First of all, it looks exactly like the animated character, so points to this note maker. Second of all, Jasper definitely would approve of giving a paddlin’ to those who don’t know how to park right. Get it together folks! For Jasper’s sake.

I speak for everyone

We’re definitely not of the opinion that you need a shiny new car. As long as it gets you from point A to point B, it’s a keeper. So what if it has a weird odor!

I speak for everyone
I speak for everyone

You’ll get used to it with time. An air freshener can make a big dent in it too, by the way. Just a tip. Still, when your car smells so much like gasoline that those in your apartment building are all getting a whiff, you maybe should be considering a trip to the mechanic.

The passive-aggressiveness is real

There are a couple different approaches to dealing with anger over someone’s miffed parking job. The first option is to just ignore it and go along with your life. Which is, obviously, crazy. The first sensible option is to write an angry note.

The passive-aggressiveness is real
The passive-aggressiveness is real

But really, where does anger ever get us? The second sensible option is to write a highly passive-aggressive note. Not only will it get your message across, but there’s also that sense that if they mess with you more, you might crack. Gotta keep them on their toes.

Gotta catch ‘em all

This is one of the best angry windshield notes of all time. Of all time! It starts off with a great hook to get the bad parker interested (it even uses an image, which is always bonus points).

Gotta catch ‘em all
Gotta catch ‘em all

It takes a second to get to the point, and it almost feels like a twist ending, which is pretty impressive considering the medium at hand. It also resonates with our souls. Really, why are you trying to collect so many spots? It’s not Pokemon, you only really need one.

Keeping it very civilized

This note is an anomaly. Not only is it one of very few to keep things civil and respectful, but it’s also so long. We’re not sure if that’s better or worse in terms of getting your point across to someone who will inevitably be angry to see that someone left a note on their car, but we like the experimentation.

Keeping it very civilized
Keeping it very civilized

It does raise a few questions, though. How does this person not realize their alarm is going off? How does a T-Rex hold a pen? Perhaps we’ll never know.

The creepy van

Why do people still buy creepy vans these days? Vans are obviously pretty awesome vehicles for plenty of reasons (like, you can actually live in them, which is definitely great), but still, the bad reputation they have is so real.

The creepy van
The creepy van

You’re not gonna be able to get new friends driving around a creeper van. “Hey, wanna go shopping? I’ll drive!” Yeah, no thanks. Driving a van might even lose you the ability to park in certain places, simply due to the fact that you’re creeping out the neighbors. Bad move.

The business card solution

A lot of people don’t write out notes when they’re unhappy with someone’s parking job, and that’s for a good reason. It takes a while to think of something clever yet truthful, and most of us don’t have a pen and paper in our car.

The business card solution
The business card solution

So, someone went out of their way to come up with the ultimate solution. Windshield business cards. Carry around a few in your wallet, and next time you see someone parked like a crazy person, flick one out onto their car and keep going.

CAR-ly Rae Jepsen

What, was that pun too obvious? Ah well, we tried. This note is based on “Call Me Maybe,” the classic song by Carly Rae Jepsen that most of us will never get unstuck from our heads.

CAR-ly Rae Jepsen
CAR-ly Rae Jepsen

The person who left this note must have been jamming out to it before noticing this girl’s poor parking job. While we feel that “hate” is a strong word, she doesn’t seem too phased by it. It’s pretty funny, after all. Plus, you already know that she’ll hear CRJ every time she parks her car from now on.

The worst worst parker of them all!

Being a bad parker is a bit of an art. Simply having the confidence to stroll into a parking lot and take up way more spots than you need is pretty impressive. With that in mind, there has to be someone who is truly the worst of them all, right?

The worst worst parker of them all!
The worst worst parker of them all!

Or maybe the best. Depends on your outlook. Anyway, this particular parker seems to have won the honor of being the Most Inconsiderate Parker out there, winning on both the Most Spots division, as well as the Longest Time Parked division.

A cursed note

There’s a lot going on with this one. First of all, we like how quickly the tone pivots from “thank you” to “I’m forever putting a curse upon thee.” Second of all, where do you learn evil curses online? Uh, asking for a friend, of course.

A cursed note
A cursed note

Third of all, and perhaps more perplexingly, why is this foreboding note covered in cutesy little animals? They didn’t have a single piece of scary, witchy paper in their car? They should look for creepy paper next time they’re surfing the cursed side of the web.

Gotcha moment

You know that feeling of terror and anguish in the pit of your stomach when you walk up to your car and see that there’s a ticket on the windshield? Using that to your advantage is a devilishly good way of dealing with someone who is parked like a fool.

Gotcha moment
Gotcha moment

Think about it. You can’t move their car, getting them towed feels overly petty, but this is just right. It’ll freak them out just enough to make them reconsider their parking decisions in the future. It’s vigilante justice!

Just pretending

It turns out that leaving a fake note on someone’s windshield is a bit of a trend. We definitely aren’t advocating for it, as it’s totally not a nice move to ding someone’s car and then just bail.

Just pretending
Just pretending

But, we have to admit that the notes are funny. We also like to imagine that the person watching them write the note walked over and saw that they totally were faking. Let’s hope that they didn’t get caught on camera doing the dirty deed. That’d ruin their day for sure.

Oink oink!

This note urges the parker in question to be more considerate of others. That’s really the key issue that unites all of these different notes: someone was only thinking of themselves, and they didn’t stop to think of any of the other people that may have needed to park.

Oink oink!
Oink oink!

We’re not entirely sure if the pig was fully necessary, but we will admit that it gave us a laugh. Our main point is that we don’t need to drag innocent barnyard animals into this. Pigs have a stellar driving record!

Broke, but kind

It’s one thing to just cost someone some time and happiness by taking up their rightful parking spot. It’s another thing completely to take their spot and force them onto the street, where they then get a ticket that they have to pay off.

Broke, but kind
Broke, but kind

That’s definitely crossing the line. The fact that this person kept their cool and didn’t try to seek revenge is honestly admirable. We can’t say for sure, but it would’ve been hard for us in their position. So, hats off to you, note writer.

Sorry and hungry

If there’s even been a more relatable photo on the interwebs, we haven’t seen it. We’ve all walked by and seen some candy that we desperately wanted, but couldn’t have. Really, that’s just a metaphor for life. #candyphilosophy.

Sorry and hungry
Sorry and hungry

Anyway, this person did what we have all considered at our lowest points and just went for it. We definitely don’t condone stealing in any way, but hey, we feel ya. Still, stealing the Kit Kat may have been even more painful for this car owner than losing anything else. They wanted that!

Park somewhere else!

There are certain bad parking jobs that are understandable. Maybe they were in a rush and didn’t have time to line things up perfectly. That’s cool, we get it. But if you’re parking on someone else’s block? Yeah, maybe you should just migrate back to your own.

Park somewhere else!
Park somewhere else!

Even if you’re just visiting a friend, you should try to exercise some consideration for others while parking. Also, 72 hours? What are you doing, watching every Harry Potter movie in a marathon with your buds? Also, why weren’t we invited? Questions, questions.
